1st International Conference on Lexicology and Lexicography
About This Conference
The 1st International Conference on Lexicology and Lexicography brings together researchers from two closely related but institutionally separated disciplines: lexicology, the systematic study of words and their meanings, and lexicography, the theory and practice of dictionary making. Inaugural editions of long-anticipated conferences are often defining moments, and this one aims to establish a permanent international forum for work spanning word formation, semantic change, collocations, corpus-based lexical analysis, digital dictionary design, and the special challenges of documenting endangered language vocabularies.
The conference will attract linguists, lexicographers at dictionary publishers and language academies, corpus linguists, and computational researchers building lexical resources and word embeddings. At a time when large language models are reshaping how people interact with word meaning, rigorous lexicological and lexicographic research has never been more important as a grounding for both humanistic scholarship and technological application.
