IMOL 2025: 7th International Workshop on Intrinsically Motivated Open-ended Learning

About This Conference
IMOL 2025: 7th International Workshop on Intrinsically Motivated Open-ended Learning is dedicated to the challenge of building AI systems that learn continuously, autonomously set their own goals, and grow in competence without relying on fixed external rewards. Now in its seventh edition, IMOL brings together researchers from machine learning, developmental robotics, and cognitive science who share this ambitious vision.

Topics include curiosity-driven exploration, self-organized curricula, skill discovery, intrinsic reward modeling, open-ended environments, developmental learning trajectories, and connections to human and animal motivational psychology. The workshop is especially valuable for researchers working on autonomous agents, lifelong learning systems, and reinforcement learning who want to go beyond reward engineering. Graduate students and postdocs will find a stimulating, relatively small-scale venue where deep discussion of foundational ideas is encouraged.
