SIAM Symposium on Algorithm Engineering and Experiments

The SIAM Symposium on Algorithm Engineering and Experiments (ALENEX) is dedicated to the empirical analysis and experimental evaluation of algorithms and data structures. Co-located with the SIAM Symposium on Discrete Algorithms, ALENEX bridges the theoretical study of algorithms with the engineering realities of implementing and deploying them at scale. The symposium values rigorous experimental methodology, careful benchmarking, and insights gained from the systematic study of algorithm behavior in practice, complementing theoretical worst-case analysis with practical understanding that shapes real-world algorithm selection and implementation.

Submissions are invited on the implementation, experimental evaluation, and engineering of algorithms and data structures across all areas of computing, including graph algorithms, optimization, combinatorial algorithms, string processing, geometric algorithms, and machine learning. Papers should present experimental results based on sound methodology and contribute insights that go beyond what theoretical analysis alone can provide.
